Flood pictures

This is what our basement looked like when we saw it the night it happened. We had decided last minute to go to a wedding reception. I'm so glad we weren't home because my kids' playroom is in the basement and that's probably where they would have been when the 15ft. wall of water hit our house. It crushed all five of our basement windows out and filled our basement in 3 minutes. If they had been down there, they would have died. We just didn't have the time. It's all mud and it filled our entire basement up. Miracles that no one died. Several of our volunteers had injuries. One guy got cut and in the process of trying to get his foot unstuck from the mud, my brother cut his hand up and had to get stitches at the hospital. Another guy working on a neighbor house got knocked out from a high pressure hose hitting him. People have sacrificed more than time to help us, but resources and so much more.

Boulders from the mountain were washed into our yard.

Here's what our yard used to look like.

And now...

A neighbors car was washed into the retainer pond.

Unloading water from our basement.

They finally dug a huge trench to pull out the window well and drain the water that way.

There are so many more crazy pictures, but here's a start. We could use your continued prayers. Also, none of the 11 homes that were flooded had flood insurance, so any donations would be much appreciated.  Click Here.
