This little guy is eating mushed up food now. He was perfectly happy with rice cereal and then we introduced peas (he wasn't so sure that he liked that, but after three days he warmed up to it), then we introduced pears (what! I was just starting to like the peas. Now what's this gross stuff?).
Here comes trouble. I think it's about time to get a barrier for the stairs. Luckily he isn't the fastest guy yet, but that won't last for long.
And guess what I woke up to the other day? This and then....

His sisters gave him a baby doll bottle. He had fun pretending with it.

We harvested several very large watermelons this year. We've been eating them for several weeks. And so have some of our neighbors.
We also learned how to can for the first time this year. I am so grateful for Randy's wonderful help. He was even a good enough sport to do some of it for one of our date nights (we even sent the kids to the neighbors). We did apricot jam, pears, salsa, and peaches.
For halloween we have several new decorations. The skeleton we purchased at the store. It was hilarious because Katie Marie was trying to convince me that we needed to buy it and kept hugging it to her chest and saying, "mom this is so beautiful!" I guess her tactic worked. The blocks I made myself. I used wooden cubes we had from some scrap wood and then I just went to work. The spider is funny too, because after we bought a bunch of them at the store, Belinda was convinced they were "her" spiders. She even slept with one in her bed for several nights in a row. She wouldn't happily go to bed without Kubali and her spider. I'm pretty sure that when I was a little girl, I had nightmares about skeletons and spiders. I'm not sure why my kids love them so much, but it really makes me laugh!!!
We also refinished our entryway (maybe I should say Randy finished our entryway, I just told him what to do). The mostly finished product is so exciting for me, but there is no picture. Sorry! I guess you'll just have to come visit.
Katie Marie's schooling is going really well so far. Look at her amazing handwriting! This was about a month ago, so it's only getting better. This was just a phonogram test, so she was just writing down whatever letters I told her to write down.
I, the amazing huntress, caught a lizard. He was a fast little guy. He had a few tricks up his little lizard tail when I was chasing after him. But I finally cornered him and caught him to show to the girls. Belinda was the only one brave enough to touch him. After we all took a few pictures, we let him go again.
Lastly, I believe I was being a big ambitious by announcing the project simplify stuff, especially since I have now discovered pinterest and realize there about a million amazing ideas and way more organized and cute closets and everything else. But I might still post about a few things I've done. Since, I still have a long way to go. The bathroom is now organized.
One of the biggest problems with messes that I was facing was (since I have little girls) there were elastics, bobby pins, head bands, bows, etc. EVERYWHERE. In the playroom, living room, bedrooms, tied on stuffed animals, baby dolls, etc. It was driving me crazy. I came up with the idea of putting them in bins like this to keep Katie Marie (when she was younger) from getting into it as easily, but she can easily take of the lids now, so that wasn't really working having them in the girls bathroom. Now they are in my bathroom and the girls are no longer allowed access to any of it.
This is the only stuff the girls are allowed access to in their bathroom. This has made a HUGE difference in our lives!!!
